The Wilmington Delaware Ostomy Association (WDOA)
The WDOA is committed to improving the quality of life of people who have, or will have, an intestinal or urinary diversion (ostomates). In support of this commitment
1. We work closely with the medical community and other organizations to provide the best care possible to ostomates and prospective ostomates, and to provide support to family members of ostomates.
2. We conduct regular meetings for the purpose of sharing information on caring for, and living with, an ostomy
3. We issue newsletters to WDOA members and various members of the medical community
We are organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes and qualify as a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The WDOA in collaboration with Ostomy Nurse volunteers & Community Recreation Centers of New Castle County opened Ostomy Closets of Delaware in April of 2022 which offers donated unused excess ostomy equipment to individuals living with an ostomy who need “urgent” supplies.
